 Vocabulary Lesson

For teachers and students

Vocabulary through Music

Choose a number of songs to listen to.  As you are listening, answer these questions:

What does the song make me feel?

What words do I think of when I hear the song?

Describe the song, in writing.

Write sentences using the words from your list.

Write your own song with some of the words from the one you heard.

Note:

As you listen, use your dictionary to find new words that the song makes you  think of.

Write down the new words. Put the list on your wall/refrigerator/notebook cover.

Result:  Because the words are meaningful to you, you will probably associate them with the song, and remember them!
